Mission Statement


The Klickitat County Department of Emergency Management’s (KCDEM) mission is to provide robust disaster mitigation, response, recovery, and public outreach through various emergency management programs. The E-911 Dispatch function of KCDEM is dedicated to providing prompt, courteous, and professional handling of all 9-1-1 and non emergent calls. It is our mission to protect life and property by delivering professional, effective and compassionate 9-1-1 public safety communications to the public and public safety responders of Klickitat County. 

Debris Burning Safety Update

Due to the mild weather and strong winds,  over the past few weeks our Fire Districts and Departments, and the Washington Department of Natural Resoorces (DNR) have been called out for wildfires in the County

Please consider current and forecasted weather conditions, and the environment around/near the burn pile before starting your debris burning
